DR JULIANA OLUFUNKE LAWSON

Dr Juliana Olufunke Lawson MBBCh, FWACP (Paed) MSc (Public Health) KJW

Is a highly experienced and compassionate Pediatrician with over 35 years of dedicated service in the field. An alumnus of the University of Jos, University of London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine, Dr. Lawson’s expertise spans a wide range of Paediatric areas, including general care, with special interest in neonatology and sickle cell disorder.


Her genuine love for children, coupled with her commitment to their well-being, make her an excellent Paediatrician, building trust and strong relationships with her patients and their families.


A reasoned administrator, she was medical director and is presently the Chairman of the Board, Zankli Medical Services, Ltd. Dr. Lawson is responsible for overseeing the overall governance and strategic bearing of the hospital, ensuring that it operates smoothly and effectively to deliver the highest quality of patient care.

She has served in various capacities on different boards and committees and has presided over several programmes.


She is the Chairman Court of Governors of the Lagos State University College of

Medicine(LASUCONM), Patron Stop TB Partnership of Nigeria, She is a member of the Board of Trustees, Sickle Cell Cohort Research – SCORE Foundation and Sickle Cell Aid Foundation (SCAF), steering committee member of the ARISE (African Research and Innovative Initiative for Sickle Cell Education) and consortium partners, Chairman, Technical Advocacy and Legislative and Working Group and Past National Coordinator of Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria.


She is a member of the Paediatrics Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Medical Association, Nigeria Society of Neonatal Medicine, Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, and Abuja Liaison officer for the Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria. Apart from regular clinical practice, she has been involved in research work in Rickets and Sickle cell disease in the community.


She is a Knight of John Wesley of the Methodist Church of Nigeria and has contributed and continues to support several community projects, outreaches and scholarships.
