About the Role

Patient Care:

Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.
Collaboration:

Work closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff, to ensure coordinated patient care.
Education:

Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
Provide health promotion and disease prevention education to the community.
Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies and Nigerian healthcare regulations.
Safety:

Ensure a safe and clean patient care environment.
Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
Emergency Response:

Respond to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
Cultural Sensitivity:

Provide culturally competent care and respect the diverse backgrounds of patients.
Advocacy:

Advocate for the well-being and rights of patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Professional Development:

Engage in continuous learning and professional development, attending training and workshops.
Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Nurse/Midwife

  • Double Qualification (Registered Nurse and Midwife)

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.

  • Experience working in the delivery room.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
